How much hospital daily cash benefit is recommended?

Hospital daily cash benefit coverage is NOT designed to take the place of comprehensive or major medical coverage. It is designed to help you meet the additional costs that may not be covered by your other insurance. For example, your health insurance may only pay for a semi-private room. You may wish to carry the hospital daily cash benefit to cover the costs of upgrading to a private room. Coverage amounts of $80 and $160 daily benefits for up to 365 days of hospitalization.
